The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

More and more students of our gymnasium are achieving DofE bronze awards

1 Gold Award, 11 Silver Awards and 51 Bronze Awards were given to young people on the morning of Thursday 15th June in the British Embassy in Vilnius. The ambassador of the British Embassy in Vilnius Andrew John Pearce and Vice Minister of Education Grazvydas Kazakevicius congratulated and awarded the participants of the programme. The ceremony was very joyful where inspiring speeches were given, and finally an enthusiastic performance by Jurgis Didziulis helped the young people to relax and become active participants of a wonderful dance and music show.

Three our school students Alvija Kučinskaite, Laura Liutkauskaite and Gabriele Viduolyte successfully completed the programme and received international certificates and Bronze Awards. Participating in the programme the students had their personal goals which were achieved by doing different activities: improving their talents, trying new skills, doing sports, volunteering and going on an expedition with other young people.

We are glad that our students were not afraid of different challenges and unexpected moments, and their determination and self-confidence helped to achieve their goals. We hope that the participation in The Duke of Edinburgh‘s International Award was useful for improving their communication, cooperation and time management skills, and this new experience will be important and necessary in the future.
